SACRED LETTER SERIES

In Latin scripts each letter in a word stands alone… stoic, individualistic, and unrepentant. While in Arabic scripts letters must embrace, bend and morph to create a communal whole. Calligraphy and illumination continue to be the highest forms of artistic expression in Islamic traditions. As such, intermittent Arabic letters are used here to reflect an identity that is a fusion of both worlds: individual sacred parts retain their separate-ness while intertwining with one another to create balance and a more beautiful whole.
